Sagip Kapamilya is a program created in 2004 to provide relief assistance to disaster-affected communities due to the numerous calamities that hit the Philippines.
The immediate deployment of relief operations is one of the program's key components to help address the communities' inaccessible basic needs due to the disaster.
The Philippines is one of the world's top five most disaster-prone countries. Due to its geographical location along the boundary of major tectonic plates and the center of a typhoon belt, the country is primarily hit by floods, typhoons, landslides, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and droughts. In the past two years alone, around 3 million Filipinos were affected by disasters. When disasters strike, it is essential to reach vulnerable communities promptly and provide them with access to basic needs.
Sagip Kapamilya, along with its network of partners and volunteers, assists families living in remote areas by distributing food packs. Their team assists in packing essential goods and delivering them to communities, particularly those in difficult-to-access locations.
The distribution typically includes food packs containing rice and canned goods, kits for repairing homes, and hygiene kits to address health and sanitation needs and potentially prevent significant outbreaks.
Your contribution will directly support the distribution of food packs and hygiene kits, ensuring that vulnerable families receive critical assistance during their most challenging times.
